Review Tarantulah from Uvianhell696 blog
1. Tarantulah -War Brutality cd - 7 April 2014
Melihat nama band ni agak kompius juga kan,namun jangan disalah tafsir pula, band ni berasal dari kuala lumpur,memainkan irama punk dan dicampurkan sedikit elemen metal. dan ini adalah demo kedua dari mereka,demo ni mengandungi 6 lagu yang begitu berat untuk didengar,haha.. lagu pertama war brutality memang cukup brutal,brutal kearah sound punk yang raw,aku cukup kagum dengan susunan lagu ni, ini bukan tarantulah yang aku dengar dalam demo pertama mereka dulu,muzik untuk demo ni cukup bagus dari segi lagu2 sound produksinya pun menepati apa yang aku harapkan,lagu kedua apa erti kita kawan,lagu ni memang layan,lagi hebat dari lagu pertama tadi,intro saja kau ni kawan jenis apa nak berkira dengan aku..hahaha..seperti aku cakap rentak lagu ni memang layan,mungkin kalau lagu ni dibawah secara live,kompom chaos dengan pelanggaran sesama sendiri. demokrasi itu dusta,lagu ketiga,dimulakan dengan intro dipetik dari filem tiga abdul,adengan semasa pembahagian harta selepas ayah mereka meninggal.. lagu ni seperti 2 lagu diatas tadi, lagu ni pun sama juga dengan irama punk yang menberontak,aku rasa lagu2 tarantulah ni memang ngam dipersembahkan secara live,terasa pula aku nak moshing bila mendengar lagu2 mereka ni,selepas lagu ni mereka meneruskan dengan lagu provakasi itu dusta. dan disambung dengan lagu hellbangers,tribute untuk budak2 klhellbangers,dan juga semualah hellbangers kat muka bumi ni.dan diakhiri dengan lagu mati hidup semula,dengan lagu terakhir ni,aku rumuskan demo ni memang terbaik dari tarantulah,tidak rugi pelaburan aku untuk support band ni,jika sesapa yang inginkan cd ni bleh berhubung dengan mereka,harga untuk cd ni rm15 siap poslaju.. dan untuk tarantulah teruskan perjuangan,satu lagi aku harap demo ni harapnya diriliskan semula dalam format .kaset,sebab bagi aku sound macam ni akan menyerlah kalau dalam format kaset hehe...

Versi kaset...
aku perna publishkan versi cdr kat blog ni, dan aku perna ngimpikan utk mendengarnya dalam format kaset, dan akhirnya aku memilikinya.. kaset ni aku dapat byhand dari vokalis band ni, masa gig klhb hari tu, beli sekali ngan patchesnya cantikkan..hehe
klu cdr tu aku tak berapa kerap mainkan sebabnya aku kurang mendapat feel bila dengar, walaupun lagu2 band tarantulah ni mudah dihadam namun begitu ianya tak tersenarai dalam playlist harian aku.. malam aku balik dari gig tu kan, aku terus pasang kaset ni, PERGH!!! dia punya feeling tu lain macam, wow aku ckp dalam hati, memang terbaik, 2 kali aku round sebelum aku tido, lepas tu sambung balik lagi esoknya, dan sekarang kaset ni masuk list pilihan didengar.. bayangkan ceman hebatnya versi kaset ni..
ohya label yang rilis ni pun aku selalu tgk banyak kaset2 lama dia riliskan balik ingatkan cincai punya label, rupanya, ianya mmg betul2 minat ngan kaset ni, kualiti terbaik... salute DIY DISTRO, nanti kita deal ok.

dalam demo human suffer ni tarantulah menghidangkan 7 track 5 darinya adalah lagu baru manakalah 2 lagu rakamana semula, lagu viva la peace adalah lagu dari 1st demo yang punya sound baru, manakalah satu lagu cover sepultura troops of doom. seperti demo kedua mereka demo kali ni, mereka masih mengekalkan gaya sound dari demo kedua.
lagu2 baru tarantulah kali ni dimulakan dengan lagu human's suffer, disusuli
dengan lagu kedua benefit contradiction, lagu2nya mudah diterima halwa telinga
senang diproses. kira layan lah bagi telinga aku, ohya rasanya kalau nak pra
dengar lagu2 dorang ni boleh g utube ja usaha kat sana, kalu masuk support. utk
keseluruhan demo ketiga ni aku boleh katakan mereka sudah bersedia utk album
penuh. dengan sound begini mereka layak dapat pujian dari aku yang tak seberapa
tahu dalam hal muzik ni, apa yang aku tahu ianya menghiburkan aku. terbaik geng.
lagi satu nak cerita pasal dia punya bungkusan, pelik tapi sesuatu yang baru dalam koleksi aku, lihat pada gambar kat atas, ianya seperti buku, bila di buka cd tu menegak terus. hurm sempoi lah,ohya macam mini zine, lihatlah foto2 dalamnya tu, tiap lagu diceritakan apa maksud lagu tu ngan tuju ngan sapakan, band tarantulah ni dorang perkenalkan muzik mereka moderate metal punk.. campuran gaya metal ngan punk gitu.. nah apa tunggu lama support mereka ni. utk maklumat lanjut g link ni.....tarantulah blogs. hellyeah...
4.Tarantulah - Sekatan minda terseksa... kita didusta- 21 Jun 2016
haloha... ini ada cerita sikit pasal cd yang baru aku terima minggu lepas, utk info band ini memainkan irama metalpunk dan berasal dari kl. ini adalah demo ke 4 dari mereka, mengandungi 4 lagu baru, masih lagi mengekalkan bunyi dari demo2 yang lepas, terus terang aku cakap, pertama kali mendengarnya aku agak kacaw mungkin juga keletihan yang melampau melanda diri haha.. namun setelah di dengar berulang2 kali, aku dapat mengikuti rentak lagu2 dalam demo ke 4 ni.
untuk lirik masih lagi mengekalkan penentangan pada politikus masa kini.. lihat saja pada tajuk2 lagunya.
untuk keseluruhannya aku mengharapkan sound seperti demo war brutality, bagi aku sound dan lagu2 dalam demo ke 3 tu mantap sekali, untuk demo ke 4 ni aku berikan separuh saja, untuk menghadamnya perlukan masa, harapnya demo ni dirilis dalam fomat kaset, sound seperti ini mmg ngam sangat kalau dengar dlm kaset bagi selera aku lah haha.. nanti aku cerita pula di entri lain pasal discografi kaset tarantulah ni. utk maklutmat lanjut pasal band ni boleh lah cari mereka di facebook.. taip saja nama band ni dan juga nama man rabaxx aka sarip doll.

salam semuanya.. haha, rasa macam sudah lama aku tak cerita rilisan baru
dari lokal band, semenjak dua menjak ni asyik membeli rilisan lama2 saja, utk
melengkapkan koleksi sedia ada. kali ni aku nak cerita pasal bungkusan yang
mendarat khamis lepas klu tak silap aku hahaha. baru dapat menaip ni, cuti kan
3 hari membezikan diri dengan family, ngan tido lah memang best tido time2
cuti.
untuk cd ni, ni adalah demo ketiga band tarantulah, band ni aku dah cerita
kat posting tahun lepas, demo kedua mereka yang judulnya war brutality tu. yang
aku gembiranya aku dapat versi cd ngan tape sekali. haha dalam bungkusan ni
pula aku dapat satu versi lain lagi utk demo kedua tu. hahaha thx man utk demo
free tu.

1- TARANTULAH - Promo 2012

First things that caught my attention when their music touch my ears is that Azmaniak of Langsuyr hahaa.. Yes indeed and its not about the music but the vocalist hehee.. Their vocal style almost similar even both are also sharing the same name which is Man but then Tarantulah one is Man Rabaxx hahaa.. His vocals almost like Azmaniac except more harsh and rough. Ok lets talk about their music. Hmm.. its a Raw Rawk Rabaxx as mentioned in their bio. Ahh.. at first I thought this shit might be somekind of Grindcore or Death Metal madness. Well its quite different than what I've expected. Raw Rawk Rabaxx. Well it was indeed very much Raw kinda approached. As for Rawk or Rock, I would say it was rather a mixture of Thrash and Death Metal not really Rock. And the Rabaxx or rough, I would definitely say YES my bro hahaa.. Ok 2 trax available in this Promo which I think quite harsh and a bit rebellious hahaa.. Refering to the traxtitle such as Hak Kita(Our Right) and Pukul Mereka Dalam Diam(Beat Them In Your Silence) really showing how hatred and anger was dominated in most of their songs. Well I dont want to talk about the political ideology or life philosophy. Maybe Tarantulah got their own views about certain issues and I respect that. Anyway I was quite curious as to why that shit Masihkah Kau Ingat songs from our local pop band Kopratasa was played as an intro and outro. Man rabaxx should have the answer I guess hehee.. So for those of you who are so particular about perfect recording sounds then I suggest dont try this at home hahaa.. It will bleed your ears hahaa.. Hmm.. latest info that I heard that they have already unleashed new opus. An EP or album I'm not so sure. Anyway just get that new shit then enjoy their so called Raw Rawk Rabaxx blasphemy hahaa.. Hah, when Punk meet Metal then you will get War Brutality. Yes indeed and I think Tarantulah did a very good job in this latest opus. By the way my thx goes Man Rabaxxx the frontman of Tarantulah for sending me this interesting stuffs. Ok, as I mentioned above this is actually a Punk stuffs but being blended by the heavy and brutal Metal riffs. You can have both elements in most of the trax. The catchy marching beat of Punk managed to beautified those harsh and raging Metal riffs. I think Man and his komrad managed to make a clear remark of how Tarantulah musical direction. They are not only metallers yet also a Punk music lover hahaa.. Ok, lets talk about this shit stuff. Hmm.. it was released by Sisa Toksick Prod for Malaysian scene. By the way for your info this shit demo also managed to penetrated Belarus and Brazil ug scene. Hah, quite impressive and I think Tarantulah really serious to promote their name to the foreign scene. Latest, they were also released this demo in cassette format under DIY Distro & Rec. Ok, we have 6 trax in this demo which I think quite interesting hahaa.. Well its not about the music but the intro in each of the trax. Those short intros at the beginning of the trax seems like a short summary of the content. Well I dont deny that this kind of style not that new to us and being used by so many bands especially Grindcore. Anyway what make this kind of style very interesting and special is that the type of sampling being used which sometimes quite funny, sad, angry, sexy and many more which I'm fukkin sure it has their own messages to delivered. Well Tarantulah did a very good job in this parts. Ok, one advise for the band is pls improve your sounds recording and mixing in the next opus. Sometimes it shows how serious and good we are in our job when things that we do become better from times to times. I do understand that budget might be one of the reason. Well maybe it was also their intention to make it raw, dirty and rusty. Who knows? Hahaa.. Anyway some improvement needed to ensure the quality of our materials at the best level right? Hah, Moderate Metal Punk is back again! Yes indeed, Tarantulah is back with the new opus of Human's Suffer. Hmm.. I do agree with the title as we can see these days that human are suffering everywhere. Most of them are facing the tribulation of war and genocide for example Palestine & Rohingya. Some others are suffering due to the mental illness and disease. Hmm.. it seems that HS contain a very heavy humanitarian issues and it was desecrated perfectly to the underground scene. I guess not much undergrounders really care or concern on this things. Anyway those who are open minded shall understand of what is Tarantulah trying to deliver thru this new stuff. Hmm.. I think its a kind of trademark for Tarantulah to talk about this kind of issues in their songs. Such issues sometimes really close to us where we face it in our daily life. Hah, I was so glad to see such a brave band to talk about this kind of shitty things which was some of metalheads refuse to talk about it in their music even in their interviews hahaa.. By the way thx so much to the band for sending me this awesome stuff. So, the content of each songs sounds quite serious yet the music still remain the same as before which is very much catchy banging tunes. Yes indeed, it still blended by the Punk influenced in the heavy harsh Metal riffs. The sounds still the same as before which is raw and rusty. Well, I guess it was their intention to produces such a raw sounds. Hah, sometimes it reminds me of the old days of demo stuffs which being recorded live in the jamming studio hahaa.. I guess surely you know how was the sounds right? Dual vocalist of harsh growling and screeching screams. Well, sometimes a bit disturbing due to it was louder than the music. Hah, hopefully they can do something about this shit in the future releases hahaa.. Hmm.. another things that I'm fukkin sure being their favourite is the intro and outro at each of the songs. Hah, some of the dialogue quite catchy and interesting which definitely related to the content of the songs. By listening to the intro then you shall know what was the songs really talk about. Hah, that dialogue from Ibrahim Din (Do Re Mi) was so catchy and funny. Well done bro! So, we have 6 trax in this opus which is trax 1 to 4 is the new songs while trax 5 is taken from the 1st demo and the last trax is the cover song from Sepultura - Troops Of Doom. By the way the packaging was so weird yet creative as it was almost like a DVD cover style. Ok, thats all punks. The CD was unleashed by Sisa Toxsick Prod. crust punk and metal as well. Totally raw, filthy, sick and underground

guttural vocals with no compromise depend their style. They incorporate
influences from radical crust and grimy trash metal to create repulsive
and ill sort of music madness. Tarantulah is a crew for all fans of

Review # OccultBlackMetalZine - Tarantulah-Kedamaian Jalan Hitam
Tarantulah are a band from Malaysia that plays a mixture of
primitive black metal, thrash, death and punk and this is a
review of their raw 2012 demo "Kedamaian Jalan Hitam" which
was released by Trooper Art Regime.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with not much in the way of blast beats, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that are coming out of the guitars.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast riffs that combine primitive black metal, death, thrash and punk together to create a sound of their own along with a brief use of soft and clean playing and there are no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.
Vocals range from deep demonic death metal growls to high pitched black metal screams as well as a brief use of clean singing and samples, while the lyrics are written in their native tongue hateful themes, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it.
In my opinion Tarantulah are a very great sounding hybrid of primitive black metal, death, thrash and punk and if you are a f an of this musical genre, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Durjana Si Dajjal" and "Viva La Peace". RECOMMENDED BUY.

“This is our first raw demo” reza la gacetilla de prensa. Es
muy cierto todo: es el primer demo, y es realmente crudo, muy crudo. No hay un
solo aspecto aquí que no esté matizado por la crudeza. Son 4 tracks sencillos,
ruidosos y…crudos. Así, sin vueltas. Y tiene sus buenos momentos este demo, los
tiene. Cuando pisan el acelerador y se van hacia el lado oscuro y bestial de su
propuesta es cuando los originarios de Malasia muestran lo mejor de sí mismos.
Con un estilo que tiene tanto de Punk como de Thrash, Death y Black, Tarantulah
no innova, no arriesgan, pero meten ruido y lo hacen con muchas ganas. Man Rabaxx
(voz), Silentt Shoutt (batería), Rock Angel (bajo) y Rusak Minda (guitarra) son
los integrantes de esta novel agrupación que busca ganarse un lugar en la
escena a base de contundencia y agresividad. Sin embargo, hay detalles para
pulir. Detalles que, por momentos, juegan en contra de la propuesta de
Tarantulah. Es que cuando deciden incluir arreglos melódicos, con arpegios y
guitarras limpias, las cosas no les salen bien. Para ser más precisos, la
guitarra está desafinada, y en las partes en donde reina la calma, ese detalle
se nota mucho. Por el contrario, cuando se deciden a atacar sin piedad es
cuando sale a flote lo mejor de un grupo que promete más de lo que concreta.
Pero que, de seguir evolucionando, pueden llegar a convertirse en una banda a
tener muy en cuenta. Por ahora, este demo es recomendable no sólo para conocer
a un grupo nuevo dentro del Underground internacional, sino también para
empezar a seguirles los pasos a las bandas provenientes de esa región de Asia.
Y, por supuesto, para disfrutar de los momentos en donde la crudeza se adueña
del panorama. Eso es lo que mejor del grupo, estoy muy seguro de ello.

Review - The Bullet Belt Press
- Tarantulah is a four piece band playing thrash metal/grindcore hailing from Kuala Lumpur. The band was formed in 2007, but it was only 2012 that the band becan to actively releasing demos/promos and being featured in compilations. The band emailed me their promo for review and it took me quite sometime before I could find the time to really sit down and listen to their 4 track promo.
- The demo was raw but you still can listen to the songs. Musically, I found them more of a punkish grindcore band rather than a thrash band. Think Napalm Death scum era grindcore. Dirty and extremely raw. The songs were simple and straight to your face. Faithful to the typical grindcore song structure, three of the four songs were all under three minutes, not giving you any room to breath.
- The instrumentation were a bit muddy and bassy, but what do you really expect from a live promo? It would be more enjoyable if it were a bit cleaner though. If you like punkish grindcore, you should definitely check this band out. - Original review click HERE. Thank Benign Noor Hafeez.

Wat de neuk heb ik nu dan in mijn digitale brievenbus? Een kwartet
uit Maleisië dat metal speelt dat ze beschrijven als: Raw Rawk Rabaxx.
Oftewel een mix van punk, heavy en thrash metal met d-beat zoals ze zelf
zeggen.
Wat het ook is, horen kun je het amper. Dit lijkt opgenomen met een aloude cassettespeler in de garage bij moeders thuis. Nu is daar niets mis mee als je het één en ander kan horen maar achter deze ruis is het lastig hier wijs uit te worden. Met heel veel fantasie kan je er de eerste vroege schreden van een band als Sepultura in terug horen mocht je het op kunnen brengen om de complete vier minuten en achttien seconden meermaals uit te zitten.

Tarantulah are a four-piece metal band from Malaysia. ‘Kedamaian
Jalan Hitam’, which translates to ‘Peace Way Black’ in English, is their first
four track raw demo. ‘Viva La Peace’ is the first track on the EP, which has a very
distorted sound to it and features heavy shouting vocals. ‘Pukul Mereka Dalam
Diam’ opens with the sound of sirens and progresses into brutal thrash riffs
and grunting vocals from lead singer Man Rabaxx. The third track is also very
distorted, adding to the raw vibe of the EP. The final track ‘Durjana Si Dajjal’
features more thrash guitar riffs and harsh vocals. All in all, ‘Kedamaian
Jalan Hitam’ proves that metal can be found in countries all over the world and
it doesn’t always need to be edited and mastered.

Tarantulah è una band Thrash/Punk proveniente dalla Malesia. Una produzione casereccia rende questo Demo crudo, soprattutto per quanto riguarda la voce ( Nota: non nel senso di acerbo, ma Raw ); la band unisce vari componenti del Thrash con il primo Death Metal legandoci anche caratteristiche del Punk. Nel disco troviamo riff abbastanza veloci fortemente influenzati da Thrash e Punk dal punto di vista tecnico, ma con la pesantezza e violenza del classico Death dei primi anni; per quanto riguarda invece la batteria troviamo ritmi abbastanza veloci ma non pesanti, ed è proprio qui che il Thrash/Death si fa sentire di più rispetto al resto della strumentazione. In fine nella parte vocale è presente un growl gutturale apposta voluto in low-fi; nonostante questo a volte sono presenti dei piccoli “fail”, soprattutto da parte della chitarra, ma comunque un buon lavoro.

Tarantulah is a band Thrash / Punk from Malaysia. A homemade production makes this raw Demo, especially with regard to the item (Note: not in the sense of immature, but Raw); the band combines various components of Thrash with the first Death Metal binding ourselves also characteristics of Punk. In the hard riffs are fast enough and strongly influenced by Thrash Punk from the technical point of view, but with the weight and violence of the classic Death of the early years, as regards the battery rhythms are fast enough but not heavy, and it is here that Thrash / Death is felt more than the rest of the instrumentation. In the end the voice is a guttural growl specially wanted in low-fi, but despite this sometimes there are small "fail", especially on the part of the guitar, but still a good job.
